| Instructions: |

Combine 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic, Shaoxing, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and five-spice powder to make a marinade. |

Add chicken and marinate for 3 hours in the refrigerator. |

Combine egg yolk and cornstarch. Coat chicken with cornstarch, then roll in sweet potato powder. |

Heat oil over a high flame until 375;F. Add chicken pieces and deep-fry until all sides are golden-brown (total cooking time should be about 4 minutes). |

Remove chicken with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. |

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic, and ginger. |
