Adobong Carne (Beef Adobo)
Adobo, the classic Philippine dish, is also a style of cooking meat, poultry, or fish in vinegar, garlic, soy sauce, and peppercorns. There are many variations, but this one remains true to the basic recipe. Serve Adobong Carne with rice. (Preparation time does not include four-hour marinating time.)

1 tablespoon(s) Garlic, minced
1 tablespoon(s) Ginger, minced
1 Bay leaf
1/2 cup(s) Soy sauce
to taste Black pepper, freshly ground
1/2 cup(s) Cane vinegar
2 pound(s) Lean beef, cut into 2-inch cubes
2 tablespoon(s) Vegetable oil


Instructions:
1. Combine all ingredients except beef and oil. Add beef and marinate for at least 4 hours.
2. Remove beef from sauce. In a skillet, heat oil and brown beef on all sides.
3. Add the reserved marinade and simmer, covered, for 45 minutes, or until the beef is tender.
4. Serve over rice.
