Also called "dragon's eye," the longan is a fruit native to Southeast Asia. It has a translucent, white flesh with a sweet, floral fragrance. Eat longans alone as a snack, or use for soups, desserts, and sweet-and-sour dishes. Try in a stir-fry with onions, garlic, ginger, pineapple, pork, cilantro, and sweet-and-sour sauce; serve with rice.
